I saw "Knocked Up" yesterday--it was actually really, really good. I was in the mood for something funny and mindless and stupid on a hot summer's day and wound up with a really interesting, complicated movie. I mean, parts were totally written for 14-year old boys--and the gay jokes were really overblown at times--but for the most part it was just really smart and interesting. It wasn't Hallmark-y at all: the characters were just sort of, I don't know, awful and human and fucked up and maybe shouldn't be having kids at all.

Kind of like the way our parents were, I guess.

Does anyone out there ever think about maybe having kids? Or even want kids?

On a related note, I also saw the trailer again for "I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry". I'm torn--the whole idea of this movie makes me want to just sink down in my seat and cover my eyes since, you know, I think this is going to turn out to be "Harold & Kumar Go To Brokeback Mountain" but Kevin James looks really, really hot in his backwards baseball cap and fireman's uniform. Maybe it's best to just wait for it on DVD and watch the thing on mute.
