I watched a truly overblown Hollywood blimp of a disater last night "The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen". Really, I was unprepared for how bad it would be. I mean, most of the time it didn't even make sense--Tom Sawyer grows up to become a federal agent? And they have lawn furniture on the Nautilus, but then when the sub sinks--what? The lawn furniture just goes floating away somewhere? Mind you, this was only about 1/100th of what made it bad.

It was like, a movie made by people with too much money and too much education and not enough sense. I kept waiting for Emily Dickinson's "Because I could not stop for death/ he kindly stopped for me" to show up, only played by Nicholas Cage in some mega-prosthetics masterpiece that took seven hours a day to put on.

A damn mess.
