Thought I'd best do a quick general update.
Still love my mobility scooter - even if it does make me look about 90! It's the difference between being able to walk as far as the car (about 15 metres) and being able to go places locally without having to use the car. It's fantastic to be able to get into the village again (about a mile and half from ours) without having to use petrol. Okay, so I'm using electricity, but it's better and cheaper than petrol.
Am doing a pain management course at the moment, which is proving quite interesting. For me the most beneficial part is probably meeting other people with pain conditions and hearing how they cope and simply being with others who have an 'invisible' disability and know how frustrating it is dealing with other people's attitudes to such.
I have my exam on AA309 this week, Wednesday in fact. I don't feel ready for it as I've been struggling to remember anything. My cognitive functionality is pretty damn bad right now, particularly memory and remembering words; exactly the two things you need for an exam.
Also pain levels seem to have taken a turn for the worse again. For some reason even with the memory foam mattress topper (3 inches deep) my body thinks the bed is actually lumpy concrete. I haven't been able to sleep for more than an hour or so due to the pain caused by lying down for so long now that I can't remember what it feels like not to be tired. On the other hand I also struggle (physically) to get up and move about. I'm doing my pillow mountain routine again - which basicaly consists of building a triangle shape out of pillows and resting half way between sitting and lying down. It's the only way of getting any rest.
Ah, well, back to revision for a bit longer then going to take a quick ride round on the scooter.
