I'm pretending to be a sheep and copying....
1)What did you do in 2008 that you have never done before?
Actually attended my Open University tutorials and found out how brilliant they are!
(2) Did you keep all of last year's resolutions?
Never make resolutions
(3) Have you any resolutions for next year?
Never make any
(4) Did anyone close to you give birth?
No
(5) Did anyone close to you die?
Not this year - last year my father in law. This year my husband's cousin who I'd never met but other people's grief at the funeral was completely overwhelming so I'm assuming she was a good person.
(6) What countries did you visit?
Wales, although technically it's a principality I'm told, rather than a country.
(7) What would you like to have in 2009 that you didn’t have in 2008?
Good health
(8) What date in 2008 will remain etched in your memory?
20th December for seeing people I hadn't seen in a while and just enjoying the day. Oh, and playing on a mobility scooter and realising how much of a difference they can make.
(9) What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Sticking to my guns and appealing DLA who automatically refuse all claims based on fibromyalgia and winning without even having to attend a tribunal. It's made a big difference to life.
(10) What was your biggest failure?
I don't think I've been the greatest friend in the world this year as I've been quite focused on my own problems.
(11) Did you suffer any illness or injury?
Still fibromyalgia and everything that comes along with that. Life is limited. Oh, and panic attacks, that was new. And this strange going numb down one side business.
(12) What was the best thing you bought?
a plaster mixing drill for Pete for xmas
(13) Whose behaviour merited celebration?
Hmm, my mom, my husband and Audrey.
(14) Whose behaviour made you appalled and depressed?
Several people who've disappointed me really by behaving badly towards people who've been their friends for a while.
(15) Where did most of your money go?
Bills. I'm disabled and on benefit which basically means I get to live in poverty in this wonderful country of ours.
(16) What did you get really, really, really excited about?
The brief moments when I had no pain.
(17) What songs will always remind you of 2008?
The Black Parade album mostly (MCR).
(18) Compared to this time last year, are you:
Happier or sadder? about the same I think
Thinner or fatter? again, about the same
Richer or poorer? both
(19) What do you wish you'd done more of?
study.
(20) What do you wish you’d done less of?
Letting other people's behaviour affect me
(21) How will you be spending Christmas?
We sat about and relaxed. We always do
(22) Which LJ/OD users/bloggers did you meet for the first time?
None.
(23) Did you fall in love in 2008?
No, already was
(24) How many one night stands?
None, my husband would kill me and I can't stand cheats
(25) What was your favourite TV show?
Oh, I don't know! Sanctuary, Moonlight, Survivors. Anything sci-fi or horror/thriller really.
(26) Do you hate anyone now that you didn’t hate this time last year?
Why allow other people that power over me and my emotions? Some just aren't worth it.
(27) What was/were the best book(s) you read?
I've loved too many books to name.
(28) What was your greatest musical discovery?
I'm still into the same bands I loved last year - MCR, Levellers, Alice Cooper and about a hundred more.
(29) What did you want and get?
A shift in attitude, perception and improved friendships.
(30) What did you want and not get?
A better government
(31) What was your favourite film this year?
Too many to name.
(32) What did you do on your birthday and how old were you?
I can't remember - it was January. I was 34.
(33) What one thing would have made your year more satisfying?
reduction in pain
(34) How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2008?
Same as ever - I don't have a fashion concept. I suppose I'm slightly hippy-ish
(35) What/Who kept you sane?
Oh I'm completely nuts, have been for a while. Although I was saner this year than a couple of years ago when I was completely bonkers. I have Pete to thank for that.
(36) Which celebrity did you fancy the most?
Not overly big on celebs, but on the other hand I wouldn't kick Johnny Depp out of bed. He's the age range I like...
(37) Which political issue stirred you the most?
The way disabled people in this country are treated and targeted by our appallingly badly behaved government. Why is it that the government are spending vast amounts of money telling everyone that all people claiming IB and DLA are theives, when the highest areas of fraud are IS, JSA and housing benefit? IB and DLA have the lowest fraud levels because they're the most difficult benefits to claim. I'm also sick of the way people with 'invisible' disabilities are treated. Gods help ANYONE who crosses me on this issue this year!
(38) Who did you miss?
My father in law, my nan and my dad who's still 'here' but has abandoned his children.
Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned this year?
Other people's poor behaviour is not worth getting upset about - why waste the energy?
And I intend to get more involved in both the pagan community and disabled politics this year as both need as many people actively working towards better things as possible.
