If I write non-fiction, especially if it's expository work, and HOO BOY EXTRA ESPECIALLY if it's for my blog where I explain knitting stuff (which you're free to read, but unless you knit, I can't imagine why you would want to -- I include the link solely to demonstrate the truth of the statement I'm about to make) one very likely hallmark is that it's verbose. Yes, the preceding sentence may well be considered an example of this. The limit on LJ comment length is a bane to me.

Strangely, my fiction writing tends to be terse to the point of abruptness. Working at a longer length, with a greater richness of detail, but without falling into the opposing fault of blathering, is a task I am currently attempting. Currently, my fiction writing pretty well sucks. But there are brief glimmers of something a little better, which inspire me to keep at it. In the meantime, I'm enjoying the process -- if I never get to the point where I also enjoy the product, that may still be okay.

Thank you for playing. Would you claim to have any influences?

I'm certain that I do, but I doubt I could name them.

Hmmmmm. I have writers I wish could count as influences, but then I look at what I wrote and think, "hmmmmm, nope. None of that here!"

some would say i write poetry. i don't see it that way. since i only write what i experience, i'd say what i write is more like a memoir than anything else.

there is passion in what i write, it's overflowing in fact. if you look at something i write about my anger or the sex i have, you know i am the author of both. i never "sit down to write" and i don't believe that encourages creativity- when weiting becomes a chore. i write when i am moved to, when the words are about to make my head explode and i can't sleep unless i get something out on to paper. i guess it's hard to explain...but i wanted to try.
