Wow, I haven't updated since Monday, for shame Michael, for shame. But am I to blam? Alot has been going on, but then again, its not like I couldn't find 5 minutes to scribble something down. Either way, I'm updating now, since I wont be here for the weekend nor will I be anywhere near a computer, so deal with it!
On monday my mother and I set out for our trip to London to find a place for me to live. This time we decided NOT to include my brother in the festivities, which was a very wise choice. Neither of us felt compelted at any point to jump out of the moving car this time around. Which is always a plus. We got down around 4:30, even though my appointment was for 5:30. But we wanted to drive by the place to find out where it was and then book a hotel for the night since my other two appointments were for the next day. So we found a hotel in the downtown core, only 5 minutes away from the house. So after booking a hotel room we were off to look at the first place, and WOW! it was beautiful. I clicked with it emediately.
Maybe it was the fact that the other three places I've looked at thus far had been beither a single bedroom in a house or a falling apart dump, and my perception of what is 'beautiful' was just tanted. Either way, I walked in and thought 'I could totaly picture myself living here'. It's a bit small, but thats what I thought about the place I'm in now and I'm finding it a bit large now. But this place was great, the bedroom is quite large, with walk in closet, a laudry room (yay no more paying for laundry fasilities) which also doubles as a kitchen (no oven, but hot plates, microwaves, toaster oven, kettle and toaster). The bathroom is nice with stand up shower (no more useless bathtub with water only going up to your belly button, I mean really, what were they thinking? I say we go back to the Victorian/Edwardian soaking tubs!) and really nice sitting aria. Best part is: Internet is included and so is cable (once they get a splicer and connect their cable down to the basment). Rent is 50 bucks cheeper than it is for me at the moment, with everything included. And the home owner lives upstars so I don't have to worry about kids and their shinanigans while trying to work. And woman showing me the place and I connected emediately, so that was wonderful. After leaving the place, I knew I had found something speciel and only if the two I was seeing on Tuesday were perfict, I had found the place I'd be staying in for two years.
After we saw the place my mom and I went to Swiss Challet for dinner (because lord knows I haven't had enough of that yet. After this year I'm not touching Swiss Challet for at least a year) and my mom said that I looked alot better after seeing the place. I know I felt alot better. Then we went back to the hotel and I watched daily planet, how I met your mother, dirty jobs and Canada's worst handiman (even though the last 10 minutes where the last 10 minutes for the week before's episode). My mom fell asleep halfway through dirty jobs. Myron called my mom and started giving her an ear fill about how she didn't call her yet, and my mom was like 'well that's stupid you shouldn't be angry'. She's starting to see that the man she married really is insane, but she's not quite ready to accept it yet. But at least she can see it.
Then on Tuesday we checked out of the hotel and checked out Western. Its beautiful! I fell inlove with the campus emediately. They have three libraries, one dedicated to music! How awsome is that? And they have a used bookstore on campus. Yay! And in their bookstore (not used bookstore, thats right, two book stores) they had a graphic noviel section. Michael was happy. We then checked out the first of the appartments to look at for Tuesday and it was a mess. I'm sure after some TLC it could be livable, but when the first thing you see when you go up the stars for this addic apartment was some animals pooping ground, it just turns you off. And I'm pritty sure the inside carpet was squishy wet. I was afraid to take off my shoes. I humoured the individual showing it off buy asking questions about it and what not, but I had pritty much made up my mind the moment I steped through the door. It was a nice size, and had it been looked after a bit better and opened up a bit more it could have been a great place, but as it was, it was pritty lame. Cable and internet were not included, so that would have rased my rent by at least 50 bucks a month, plus the hassle of dealing with internet/cable/phone companies. I said I'd let the guy know.
The last place was also really nice. It was the basment of a house owned by the daughter of the older couple living above. Apartinly the older couple lived on a boat (I'M ON A BOAT!) for more than 35 years and couldn't do it anymore. So they bought the house and were renivating the basment as I was looking at it, meaning it was no where near finished. I'm sure when its finished it will look beautiful. They showed me the plans for the kitchen they were putting in, and it even had a gass fireplace. But no matter how I tryed to place everything, the lay out of the place wouldn't allow for my couch and television set up that I'm used to. I'm sure if I had only seen that place I would have taken it without hesitation, but again, I would be on my own for internet, which I would rather not have. So I said thanks, and I'll let you know.
Then it was time for home, but we stopped off in Paris to look at this big craft store. I got some wool that I loved the texture and colours. It was neet being in both London and Paris in one day. Then I made it back to my dad's place were I told him of my adventure. I also called back the first place I looked at and told them if they'll still have me I'll take the place. She seemed happy and I asked if she needed a deposet or reference and she said 'no, I trust you. Just give me 2-3 days warning when you'll be moving in so I can clean the place up a bit for you.' I think I'm going to like it there.
Since my dad was watching The Flyers play the Habs (which I was too, but they were loosing 2-0) I went over to Stephanie's place to watch Glee. I also got to see the last 10 minutes of Canada's worst handy man, since Stephanie's mom also watches it, and this time it was for that episode. Yay! And then Glee, which was by far the best episode. Niel Patric harris geust stared and had a douet with Mr. Shoe to 'Dream On' by Arrowsmith. And all the other songs were just as awesome. Unlike other episodes, there was not one song that I didn't like or wouldn't download. I loved it so very very much. Then, since I was the geust (acording to Stephanie's Mom) I got to choose the next show, so Law and Order: SVU it was! Although since Stephanie and I were there together, we really didn't watch it. Then around 12 I left for home. Garfunkle and Oats were on Jay, which I found out Stephanie is not a big fan of. She prefers Connan. I geuss we can't agree on everything.
Then on Wednesday, it was a drive back up to Sudbury, but I had to stop off at the cottage to give my brother a rediculous amount of food my mom provided for him. Some times I really don't know what to say about my mom. I really dont. She also gave me a rediculous amount of boxes for my moving. She kept saying 'you really don't know how much stuff you have until you move'. But I'm pritty sure I don't have enough stuff to fill all those boxes. And even if I do, and have more stuff than these boxes worrent, I still have a rediculous amount of bags that I got when I first moved up here. And no matter how much I tryed to tell her I didn't need all these boxes, she seemed adiment that I take them. She also said 'well what about your friend Ashely, what if she needs boxes?' and I was like 'well then she can get her own boxes. And I'm pritty sure her mom is doing the same to her. because Mothers aparitnly are crazy'. So what ever. If anyone needs any boxes......
Getting back to the cottage, I picked up my brother, and even though he had a rediculous amount of food provided by my mother, he still wanted to go into MacTear to get more. It payed off a little for me since he bought me 'Garden State' instead of giving me the gass money he would never get to me. I've learned that with my brother, you have to get him to do it there and then with no time between when youtell him something and when he needs to do it. If you leave him time, you leave him time to forget and/or find something else to do. So I got him to get me the movie instead. I think it was a less than fair traid, but less than fair is better than nothing at all. Then I dropped him back at the cottage and off to Sudbury I went. Once back in Sudbury I pritty much just sat on me arse and did nothing. I listened to Cupcake and Tea's radio show, which was all request. Best part: she played my request first, which was Polkamon by Weird Al. We're awesome like that. I then watched the latest Doctor Who episode which was AWESOME! I think that may just be my favourit epsiode of this season. I'll have to watch it a few more times to really get the full effect.
Yesterday I had my final meetin with my counciler who said I had made some awesome headway. Still a bit werry about the ladies, but he said it will come in time. I'm still skeptical but he said so long as I keep an open mind and let things come as they will I can't fail no matter what happens. After that I went to the mall to drop off the letter to UofT saying I'm declining their offer of admition, and then I picked up my dad's birthday gift (two rolls of bubble wrap) and saw a Sumi plushy for 10 buck and couldn't say no (seeing as they were 30 just a few months ago). Then I finished reading 'Moby Dick' which was really good. Then Ashley came over and we talked for a bit. Then I went to the final session of RV and we had a geust speaker, being Doctor Persigner. Its funny that I started my Laurentian schooling with him and ended it with him. As he said 'that's not funny at all, its how the universe works'. He's the only hippy I know in a three piece suite. We then did another remote viewing and I had the best 'hit' of the group. Everyone kept saying how awesome my Remote Viewing potentials had grown. I just kind of rolled my eyes and said 'yeah well thanks'. They couldn't believe I was a skeptic, and I was like 'yes.....was a skeptic.....' but I geuss I'm a better actor than I thought. Then we went to a bar which wasn't all that bad. They were playing the best of Radiohead so there wasn't much complaining by me since I could just listen to that. I still felt like an outsider, but at least I was an accepted outsider. Then I went back to my appartment and hung out with Ashely some more. Then she went home, and I went to bed.
And thats what I've been up to this week. This weekend I'm going to my cottage for the long weekend. yay going the other direction than all the trafic. I'm going to miss that. So I wont be back until late on Monday. Until then intereweb universe!
