Spent the intire afternoon working on one of me Thesis assignments with the good ol' vax system. Picture dos. You've just pictured vax. Fun times I know. Best part: I'm on campus right now, since I "finished" it and now I'm just bumbing around the computer lab untill 4:30 at which point I'm off to see my one proff about 'suiside as it relates to the Antichrist.' Fun topic, I know! And becuase I'm at camus, using their computers, I get to use a friench keybord. Do you know how crazy a friench keybord is? It's just as crazy as you think. On the upside I can write out letters like èÇ and à. Yeah.........the traid off is it took me a good five minutes to find the question mark and quotations.
Five minutes down........25 to go........
So, I finaly listened to my Porcupine Tree album "The sky moves sideways." This was the album I ordered through HMV in August and it still wasn't in when I just broke down and bought it in T.O. Through ordering it from HMV at Sudbury was going to set me back a grand total or 33 dollers, plus tax. When I bought it in T.O. it was only 19.99 pus tax. And I got it emediately. Investment made. So I was waiting for the right time to finaly listen to it. And a few nights ago was the right time. Or at least it seemed right. Now....I'm all for long songs, we all know that. But, when a 35 minute song has a 10 minute interlude of the same repetitive loop of dance type music......I get perturbed. Thats 1/3rd of the song wasted, and I've gotta sit through it to hear the awesomeness that is the end. It definitly lowers the enjoyment of the song. I was not pleased. But the rest of the song is amasing. Very Floyd like. Played right to my tastes which was great. I might have to take it through audasity tonight to make it more audible.
In other news, over the weekend I read an intire book. Started on Thursday evening and finished last night. Man, that was alot of reading. The only other time I finished a book that quickly was when Harry Potter's last book came out. Well, I kinda wanted to finish it since Christena gave me two of her books to read. So what book did I read in three days? (I did't read on Friday...I had better things to do.) It was none other then the Dresden Files book one that Stephanie lent me. I can here her squee just reading that line.....yes Stephanie, it was a good book. I enjoyed it. The actual pot was alright, it was more of the Charaters that brought the focus point for me. Everything was very Film Noir, even though it was a book. I look forword to reading the rest of the searies, which I'm sure Stephanie will forse me to read.
So that's two books read already this year. I better start keeping track of all the books I read this year just to see how many I can read. It's a deal.
Speaking of deals, Dew Drop said she'd help out on my experiment if she saw me. We know what that means. Me thinking to myself the whole time "I should really ask her out" then her leaving and me thinking "I should have asked her out." But no longer! I'm commited to it this time. I'm going to do better then my best and actualy ask her to coffee. Nothing spectaculer, nothing over the top. A simple request. Or at least an e-mail. The worst she can say is "No". The worst she can do is pull out a gun and shoot me, but lets not think on that.
15 minutes down........
Well, I've got nothing else to say. I'm just going to head out.
