[The peace and quiet of the day are broken by a sudden sharp canine yelping from within 916 Bilko Boulevard. A moment later, there's the rattling and slamming of a doggy door, and a large, wolf-like white dog races out into the neighborhood, furiously shaking water and suds off her snowy fur. She races along for a minute, desperate to put distance

[There's another white wolf running around town, and she's noticed her! And she can tell that she's sad, so she trots up to her, wagging her tail to be reassuring.]

[mothersandsuns]

[Amaterasu lifts her head curiously, then lets it droop again. She can't seem to find her inventory, so she doesn't have any food for this animal. She hates not being able to offer food to animals.]

[wolf_faerie]

[Aisling comes closer and sits down. She tilts her head and whines a little.]

[mothersandsuns]

[Ammy looks up again and pauses this time. Is this not an ordinary wolf? No, surely she'd know if this was a being like her. Except--she can't tell, anymore.

She gives a little arf of confused dismay.]

[wolf_faerie]

[Aisling's starting to wonder the same thing about Ammy...but she smells like a normal wolf for now. So she inclines her head politely.]

[mothersandsuns]

[Silly! You're not supposed to make human gestures like that when you're in an animal's body. It ruins the atmosphere. Ammy shakes her fur out indignantly and gives a surprised little yelp.]

[wolf_faerie]

[Aisling bristles slightly, startled by Ammy's suddent movements. She ducks her head a little and presses her ears to her skull as a kind of apology.]

[mothersandsuns]

[Awww, it's all right if you're a little too human for a wolf. The world needs all types, after all, and it's better than those blank-faced children. Ammy leans over to give Aisling a gentle, encouraging nudge.]

[wolf_faerie]

[Aisling relaxes a bit, and nudges back happily.]

[mothersandsuns]

[After a moment Ammy settles back on her haunches and looks at Aisling curiously. So she's a god--what's your story?

She focuses and tries to draw a flower on Aisling's nose, but predictably, nothing happens. This time she's ready for it, so she doesn't look too surprised, just a little saddened. She spent a lot of time working to get that Celestial Brush in shape, you know.]

[wolf_faerie]

[At this point Aisling feels the need to express herself in words. So a swirl of mist surrounds her, and when it clears, her form has changed.]

You're new here, aren't you?

[mothersandsuns]

[Amaterasu jumps back a little in slight surprise. That's an Oina trick! But the other wolf didn't seem like an Oina. She isn't wearing a mask now, either. So what's going on here?

Ammy doesn't nod, as Aisling did, but she does pant an affirmative. She definitely hasn't been to this place before.]

[wolf_faerie]

I thought so.

This is Mayfield. Someone takes people here from all sorts of different places. And we can't leave, either. But we're all looking for a way out.

[mothersandsuns]

[That earns a low growl, directed up at the sky. Taking people from their homes and trapping them somewhere is the sort of thing Orochi did! So it's Amaterasu's duty to help fix whatever is going on and get everyone home. It would be anyway.

To express this, she turns back to Aisling, looks at her seriously for a moment, then throws her head back and howls.]

[wolf_faerie]

[Aisling nods. She can sense what Ammy is telling her.]

Yes. We're going to get home, and so is everyone else.

I'm Aisling. What's your name?

[mothersandsuns]

[Ammy tilts her head in surprise. Aisling can shapeshift like that, but doesn't know who Amaterasu is? She looks around, reflexively expecting Issun to pop out and let everyone know just who she is. But he's nowhere to be found.

So she just gives a doggy grin. Show some creativity! Come up with your own name for her!]
