Mommy Alone Time. Half Fail

Jul 20, 2013 09:52

So this is my first weekend in like a year (if I could even call that one a weekend) that I am completely alone. No Emily and No Carlos. The last one Carlos went out on a pre-planned boys-night and Nana wanted to watch the kid, so due to events that occurred prior to that weekend, I decided maybe it was time to reflect...and go into a deep cleaning. So there ya go. I had Friday night and Saturday afternoon by myself....ALL BY MYSELF. Carlos came home early due to (I'm saying) spooky/creepy incident in the woods.

This year, after much, Much, MUCH thought, Emily was allowed to go camping without me. First, let me say OH MY GOD I MISS THIS LITTLE GIRL AND HER CRAWLING INTO BED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT. I am literally torn between "They have payphones up there, but no reception for cell phones, so it's okay if they don't call" and "OMG! THERE'S PAYPHONES UP THERE! CALL ME SO I CAN TALK TO MY CHILD!" Every time I look at my phone, those two sentences come in. Four days. FOUR DAYS ALONE! I was so grateful to see a puppy yesterday that just wanted MY attention.

Anyway.

I had big plans, which consisted of cleaning the rooms and doing laundry Wednesday night and Thursday night so I can go out with a friend on Friday. Waking up early and thoroughly mopping Saturday morning and then spending the rest of the day shopping, crafting, and giving myself some TLC. Sunday morning was going to be the purging of the no loner played with toys. Nothing went as planned.

My friends were not available to hang out with at all. LIKE AT ALL (even though a few are like "We should hang out sometime. Let me know when!"). And I've been in a fit of loneliness to do anything. Yesterday, I snapped out of it and after one quickly posted and removed Facebook post ("Who wants to come over for Pizza and a Movie :O) <3"), I started to clean. I was even greeted by a new puppy, who is surprisingly good at following instruction. I even carved out 2 hours to clear my craft drawers and complete a few projects.

The goal for today is to go through Emily's toy boxes and get rid of any toys I know she does not play with and keep them well hidden in the garage until we are able to take them to either storage or a donation place. I also have a bag full of clothes that I plan to place in one of the donation bins as well. Saturday afternoon is planned to be shopping for a new pair of pants and maybe do a BMO plushie. Sunday will probably consist of us cleaning the fish tank, which has been sadly neglected.

Well, off I go.
