[ John listens in on the conversation between Sollux and Dolorosa through the intercom, but doesn't speak. He instead sets down the phone as quietly as he can and goes to the kitchen, and arrives at her bedroom door with a cup filled with water. He only spilled slightly in his nervous haste.

Then, he knocks. ]

Can I come in?

[She looks up at the door]

Of course you may.

Thanks.

[ He cautiously enters, not really sure how to handle himself in a girl's room (much less a lady's!) and offers her the drink in his hand. ]

Here! I thought you'd want a cup. I even brought juice, because juice always makes me feel better. Trolls like juice, right? Because I couldn't imagine a world without juice. I think I would die.

[she smiles at him and takes the cup, taking a small sip] Yes, trolls have juice. It's one of the few sweet things I enjoy.

Great! I'm glad I brought the right one, then.

[ He stood there, twiddling with the edge of his shirt a tad bit nervously. Good thing she looked a lot better than she sounded! But he still needed to make sure... ]

Um... so are you feeling better, miss?

[ John was not sure whether to call her by name or not. Being polite was the better thing to do though. His dad had always encouraged it. ]

You may call me Dolorosa, and I would not be against you having a seat and talking to me. I think I would like the company and we should get to know each other if we are to live in the same hive. House. I'm trying to use human terminology as a way of adaption but I've found it to be a difficult transition. [she sips the juice]

I feel better than I did before, but worse than I did when I first arrived here. I assume this feeling will wear off just in time for the town to throw another tragedy my way.
