Oh! Ok Christmas---It had long (about 40 years) been a family tradition that we don't do anything "Christmasy" until after Dec 8th, Andy's birthday, but this day we have broken with tradition, We have rented our holiday tree---yes, you've read that right--we rented a tree! A 6to7 foot tall Cork Bark fir. Early in Dec, the 10 I think, the nursery will deliver a living fir tree to our front porch, and then early in Jan. they will come pick it up and return it to the nursery to be sold or replanted to grow 'til next winter holidays season. Nothing gets killed and then thrown out. The tree wouldn't dry out, so the fire hazards greatly diminished, we don't have to figure out how to dispose of it etc. etc, everyone is happy. You can pick between a Nobel fir, Douglas fir, the Cork Bark fir , a Turkish fir, or Nordman fir. I think they were all firs. Oh yes, a blue spruce. I will nag Rachel or her Dad to get pictures and have her post one, or maybe--even teach me how to do that--LOL fat chance!!
