Chicago is a harsh mistress

The first glitch in the Plan. Elizabeth is moving from the third to the first floor. Mostly it's in reaction to the heat and heat exhaustion she's suffering but partly it's 'cause the child has been deprived of reality and has lived in a ranch (i.e. all one level) home all her live. I don't think it truely occurred to her that many people do not hav elevators and that the term "walk up" means walk up stairs. The apartments are equal and asside from the $$$$$ spent on movers no harm done. She'll have to watch the cat more closely and I think she'd have been more secure higher up but.... what do I know? I never lived in an apt above ground level.
The other factor is that she is homesick and not sure what to do about it so she's fussing. Guess James will stick with her rahter than going up to Wisconsin to help her get a little mmore secure and relaxed. She may have to do without a box spring or something to make up the $$$$.
Poor Princess. Mommy misses you, too.
I hope they get some real rest and eat some real food... evidently she's living on gatorade (ugh! that alone is enough to depress the girl!) and hasn't gotten out much to see her new world. She'll feel better when she takes the El back and fortha few times and finds the brownshirts and etc.
Evidently the cat... and to think I worrited about him... is handling the whole thing with great aplomb.
Wouldn't you just know????!!!!!!
