I can stand staying away no longer! (Grammatically preposterous, but true.)

Received last one hundred to-be-edited pages from editor today. Convinced that I may have been a bull in a former life (this may explain my predisposition toward vegetarianism) because each page to-be-edited flashes before me like a red cape for me to charge. I am unstoppable! Charge! Can't leave the pages alone. And, it should not be without mention that this is really the adrenalin pumping part of the process. It's a phase of revision where I get to wordsmith and argue with my literal and internal editor. See, editor comes along and says, "Cut" and suddenly, I am thrown into a maelstrom of inner protest.

"I can't cut that! It's important, isn't it?" Then...

"Well, I'll try cutting it, but I just know it's too important to cut." Follwed by...

"Hmmm...it seems tighter without it. Maybe I'll just leave it out for now."

I know what it's like to revise, sure. But, this is my first experience with an editor. LOVE that there is someone who is nudging me to make the book better.

On to some good reads. FLASHLIGHT READING LIST FOR MARCH (for anyone reading this that is not sure what this Flashlight List may be, I shall reiterate that the Flashlight List of books are those books who warrant a flashlight after lights out...in essence, books that were difficult for me to put down). I will not write blurbs after each one due to the fact that I need to stop procrastinating and get back to my revisions.

A BRIEF CHAPTER IN MY IMPOSSIBLE LIFE by Dana Reinhardt (sooooooo good!)

FLY ON THE WALL by E. Lockhart (fun!)

QUEEN OF COOL by Cecil Castellucci (great characters!)

THE PERKS OF BEING A WALLFLOWER by Stephen Chobsky (AMAZING!)

I AM THE WALLPAPER by Mark Peter Hughes (sweet)

Currently reading: KING DORK by Frank Portman (so far, so brilliant!) and BOY PROOF by Cecil Castellucci (how does she manage to write with such brevity while maintaining breadth?)

Hope everyone is well!
