I swear, I have exactly the same feelings when I'm writing it. It's almost like reading EXACTLY the book you want to read most, and then lending it to a friend and getting to share the story.

I LOVE that you saw that as a balcony scene. I didn't make the connection, but now, I can see it really is one! Night sky, serenades, deep looks and all.
But I didn't mean it in any kind of self-consciously cracky way at all. I really really care about these characters, these people. They are amazingly real to me, and surprise me constantly.
This chapter just started because I thought David didn't love his second audition song as much as the first. I thought, he'd like sail away. I just put it on over and over and started to write, and the mood filled the chapter.
Honestly, the whole process is a bit like lucid dreaming...
I didn't know there would be a duet, or the beginnings of a mental/emotional bond, that was all as much of a surprise to me as to you. In fact, this was supposed to be a fairly short set-up scene in a chapter that was supposed to cover more events. But the boys, bless their loving hearts, wanted to sing together, and how could I deny them?<3
I'm falling a little bit in love with Cook myself...
