I've noticed that I've been posting about a lot of issues lately - mainly lesbianism and weight discrimination. Well, just to let you know, I ain't done yet.
I was going thru the maze that is myspace and checking out some of the friends that my friends had friended (did u get that?) when I was like...how freaking cool! There's a management company specifically looking for lesbian performers to market! Of course, I was all over it. I read on....
ethnic...(well duh)check
out lesbian...(hi Jata!) check
confident...(all day long) check
sexy...(no doubt) big fat check
sensous...(hey...wait a second) check!
bossy-swagger.... (wait, you mean, can I walk?)...check!
singer/performer...(you must not know bout me! but y is this almost the last thing I see) CHECK
As I read on it became apparent by some of the pharsing that they were looking for a specific body type. Which kinda pissed me off. But more than anything what pissed me off was that their marketing angle seemed to be a sexy ethic lesbian, who by the way, can sing.
I don't really know how I feel about this. On the one hand, yayy cuz some ethnic lesbian is gonna get her big break with a good management team (hopefully) but at the same time, I know it won't be a curvy, thick or fat girl who can sing and has been working twice as hard to make it.
Such is life, right?
