So the state of Michigan is a lot better than I expected. It's just like any suburban area anywhere. Every store I could need is close by (applebee's and a supermarket on my corner, costco and target a few minutes away), and work is only 20 minutes away. My apartment is really nice (especially since I was expecting something like the high rise dorms at school). There are two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a living room with 2 couches, a dining area, a kitchen, a laundry room, and lots of closet space. Linens and dishes and stuff were all here already which was nice.
One roommate and I got here last weekend, so we each had our own bathroom and bedroom for a week. Another roommate moved in yesterday (into my bedroom because I was here when she got here), and I think the last roommate should be moving in today. So far everyone seems really nice.
As for my actual job, it's not as great as I had hoped it would be. I have to wake up at 5 AM and get there around 6:30 AM, which is so hard for me to do. I'm the only girl in the factory/lab part- the rest are in the office. I also think the average age of the people who work with me is around 45 or 50, which is a big change from what I'm used to in school and past jobs. I mean I'm used to talking to adults and stuff, but it's weird being the only one who's 20. I'm definitely the youngest person in the building. Also, it's hard going from being completely free to do whatever I want, whenever I want, to having to stay in the lab for 8 and a half hours a day. It's honestly crushing my spirit. My mom says I'll "adjust" but um, yeah, I don't want to. Then there's the job itself. I'm not sure what I think about it yet, so I guess there will be another update later.
