[Arabia's attention is drawn to the pictures. The panther. The serpent. There is a third but it is consumed in flame and shows nothing discernible at all. It is the third that he smiles at fondly.]
Patience is a virtue. [ It's a bit of an airy statement, not really speaking to anyone in particular. She turns to him again and smiles. ] It's cool to have a friend like that.
It is not one of his virtues. [Arabia glances back at the flames. But then, they have a strange effect on one another.] I have never had much use for friends, however.
I can relate to that. [ A pause. ] Sort of-- I mean, some friends should be like family. [ She pulls out another cookie and chews on it thoughtfully, watching him as if waiting for his response. ]
[He inclines his head. He can agree to that, even if it does not apply to him personally.]
Some have that luxury.
[He knows many luxuries, but there are some things that his life as a kept creature is missing. Things the man in that flaming picture would offer him.]
[ Chewing the rest of the cookie, the girl smiles gently at him and then touches his back soothingly, trying to shoo off the bad vibes around him. As an empath, she can do so. ]
