All living creatures wish to be cared for.

You would say something like that, wouldn't you.

It is the way of nature. Even the most solitary and fierce beasts will seek a mate. Is this not the truth, Black Dog?

Sometimes a mate is nothing more than a matter of bloodlines. Not care. And certainly not love.

There is a difference, Jaguar.

Love is nice, keeps you warm at night.

So does a cigarette and a bottle of bourbon.

Love and care aren't the same thing, you know, just saying.

houseisonfire February 28 2010, 17:19:27 UTC
And since when can you tell the difference?

opercularis February 28 2010, 17:21:01 UTC
Hey, I'm all about change, bratzilla. Might take me a few centuries but I can learn.

houseisonfire February 28 2010, 17:25:27 UTC
Humans care about love. They wish for it and cry over it and then wish some more.

I thought you were better than that, moth. Apparently not.

I would say that everyone is meant for love, but I'm fairly certain that would just win me commentary on how dreadfully naive I am.

Reply

8hourday February 28 2010, 16:58:58 UTC
Why do you think that's naive? I think I might agree.

sootily February 28 2010, 17:01:12 UTC
Oh, do not mistake my meaning, Mr. Doyle. I, personally, do not find the sentiment naive at all. I prefer the term hopeful.

But then again, I have been told by some that I am hopelessly romantic. Too much time spent daydreaming and not nearly enough time at study.

These would be, I suspect, the same people who live in a fantasy world where a man with a family can work eleven hours a day for a few dollars and live happily.
