mr cranky pants this morning.

old habits and emotions die hard i guess. some of the old paranoia and depression has reared its ugly head again. i know i think about some things way too much sometimes. contributes to me not sleeping. i wish i could just turn my brain off. my dreams are still mostly bad and unsettling. ive been a lot happier in general over the last few months, but my dreams stay bad.

shouldve been a great weekend. just left me feeling uncertain and, hmmm... i dont know. just yuck.

a-league soccer on friday night was good. sydney vs adelaide. was good to finally go, and the standard was surprisingly good. better than what i expected after having been to a few dull northern spirit games previously. and altho the atmosphere in general was pretty good, sydney crowds are a bit... dumb.

perhaps theres an element of people going to see whatever is in fashion. perhaps we are spoiled for choice when it comes to sport, so they never really get to fully know the rules of any particular sport (apart from the regular fans of each sport). perhaps they are just biased and like to get behind the local side and abuse refs and umpires even tho they know the official is right. or maybe i was just feeling a lil grumpy still.

but sydney won. and they deserved to on the night. and all the goals were good quality. and it was a record crowd, despite the wet weather. so i should be happy right?

rest of the weekend was forgettable. i watched phantoms. jay was wrong - ben affleck was definitely not "tha bomb" in phantoms. never been much of a fan of affleck.

read something in the sun herald about scarlet johansson and child stars. was interesting to note the examples they gave of child stars that have successfully made the transition to being adult actors. the sucessful ones were all female (kirsten dunst, drew barrymore & others i cant remember). the failed ones were all male (gary coleman, the coreys - haim and feldman, macaulay culkin, fred savage). definitely a fan of scarlet. and her co-stars. hmmmm...
