We baked a cake

I baked a cake. I'm at HOLA. I baked a cake because it's Dave's birthday. I am covered in chocolate. I broke the blender. I made a mess and cleaned it up. Now we are waiting for it to cool.
Enjoying the nice feeling of getting back to making things and doing things and not having everything in a shambles. Well, it would be nice to have a bed. But other than that, things are okay. I feel the transition happening where I'm getting out of what can only be called "camping mode." You know, now I can go places and get things when I need them. And provide for myself. I can go into K-Mart and get some shampoo and put it in the car so I don't have to carry it around with me in Whole Foods. I know, right?
There's a party tonight and I'm going to wear the cool skirt that Lisa from HOLA gave me. It can definitely be filed under "50's wife of a patron of abstract impressionism." It's a skirt for making a mean mojito in. And serving birthday cake.
