I'm back!
I finally have a real computer again. It's been too long.
I also decided I missed livejournal again. I might be getting ahead of myself, but we'll see how it goes.
It's been a couple of years again, so let's do this right.
I've been working at Bonnie's since last July- fun stuff with terrible hours. Opening the restaurant means waking up at 4am, which is not early in the morning, but late at night as far as I'm concerned. I find it easier to wake up in the middle of the night than at 7am or some other "human" hour. Probably because I'd still be awake at that time when left to my own devices. Especially now that I have real computer and internet and the like. What could possibly go wrong?
I'm quite boring.
I actually have today off- the whole day. Enjoy it while I can, right? The other waitress walked out last week and now Bob and I have to work like crazy till we find a new one. She was a strange one, even by my standards, so I'm not too strung out over the whole thing. She was a drunk from NoDak who complained too much, made rude comments, asked too many personal questions, and just didn't make any sense at all. Alicia guessed at a pain pill problem because "everyone from that generation is on opiates."
I hate hiring.
Seriously, I hate hiring. We always get a handful of applications from girls "living" in the hotel next door. If you've ever been in the area, you know the shady whoretel I'm talking about. They rent by the hour- hand to god. Then the teenagers from the high school around the corner want to apply- sorry, you have no work history and you're in school during business hours. Not happening. People with no restaurant experience apply, we rarely try them out, because I can orient someone with the cafe, but I can't teach you how to be a waitress. Hate hiring.
Alicia just called me- she was fired from her job. Balls. She's on her way over now, so I should probably get showered and decent. Blech. Too bad she can't work at Bonnie's. We already tried that.
