Stuck.

The day I left for CON, Pete took me into the office and offered me a promotion to "shift supervisor" at Galactic. I took it, figuring that a steady paycheck and a reliable schedule would do suit me well. I went to CON feeling all sorts of excited, optimistic, and ever so grown up. Having changed jobs a couple times in my chosen career, and not always by choice, I can empathize with your situation. As recently as last year, I was in a similar position--I took a job because I needed the money, thinking I'd enjoy it. Two weeks in, I realized it wasn't for me and approach the manager about it. He encouraged me to give it time, but the time line he put on doing the work I'd expected when taking the job wasn't suitable to me, and two weeks later I turned in my two weeks. I was a bit nervous, not having another job lined up and the market wasn't the best, but I knew the job wasn't for me. Working is stressful enough, but to do something you don't find yourself enjoying most of the the full experience of most of the time just isn't worth it ( ... )

Aw, sweetie, you can have my job when I leave town! (but nobody wants to drive to the shores of Lake Minnetonka to work...)
I'm picking up RockyMom tomorrow night for supper-- if you're working, we'll come see you. (I know you're in back most of the time) You have my squeezes and love.
