HMD MEME
Here are the basic rules [and delicious blatant copypasta]!
×) Comment to this post with the journal names (and name names) of characters you play. Alternatively you can also post a link to an already existing HMD in your journal, if that's what you're more comfortable with. THIS MEME IS COMPLETELY VOLUNTARY
×) Constructive

You guys totally are, and that might work for players already in game, but I don't think it's really a great compromise in the end. I know when I'm looking at a game as a prospective player, if the character I want is on the taken list, I'm not gonna message them to be like SO DO YOU WANNA DROP, even if they've only posted like two times ever. RP is first come, first serve, in a lot of ways.
As for AC, I definitely understand your guys' side of it, because holy shit you do so much work for such a huge game, but if making AC is coming up as a problem that's making people flip out and be dicks, it has to be managed somehow. I think there's a few easy fixes available? The mods can drop whatever characters are super inactive or not as strong voicewise -- as a player I think it's easier to grant wiggle-room for not meeting the AC of one/two/three characters than like five/six/seven. If nobody wants to drop anybody, maybe it'd be motivating to try and at least hit like a half ratio -- if someone has 5 characters, trying to make the AC for at least 3, for example, and being in really close contact with the less-active characters' casts, to keep aware of any Hurt Feelings. Effort is definitely always something people like to see, whether it's mods or players or whatever -- you put a shitload of effort into stuff we probably all take for granted, like handling apps or site organization or mission posts etc etc, but not everyone's going to be aware of those efforts all the time. Making AC is something everyone notices, so it comes up as a bigger sort of deal than it probably really is.
I know it sounds a bit pushy and dumb to be like NO DO ALL THE WORK AND THEN BE ACTIVE AS POSSIBLE!!!!!!!, but it's not going to change that an ICly active mod is pretty much always looked on more favourably than one that isn't. There has to be a happy medium somewhere here, you know?
Also, have you guys considered maybe taking on another full-time mod? If the workload + IRL is so time consuming/draining that you don't have time to actually RP, that's no fun at all. You guys should get to enjoy the game too.

I used to mod a game, so I understand the difficulty in juggling everything, so really guys. Even if you rather not make someone else a full mod, I don't mind having more of a workload? If you're feeling stressed about anything, feel free to dump some stuff on me, I have free time!

Here it is! We mainly just do stuff like maintenance, like helping with the job posts, replying to people's reserves, updating the various lists, etc.

Since I started, we normally try to have at least 4-5 people working together to do it. If we have less than that, it will seriously be much more time consuming and I know that people tend to go WHY DID THEY STOP REPLYING TO THE POST THEY'RE NOT DONE YET!! if we take too long with it.
Plus we can spread out more and tackle more work. There is seriously a lot of different posts that need to be constantly updated, I never noticed until Kiwi showed me the list! So this way things run smoother.

So we can either wait a little bit, especially after the drops, and see how things are oorrr... get a new mod now. Hm.

I guess I'm just brainstorming on ways to make it easier and more fun for them to be a part of the game, not just doing all our gruntwork.
