Hi MH/GB! I'm Pteryx, and I'm still pretty new to this LJRP thing, though I've played in
acedressing for a few months now. Mostly Harmless, though, is my first "real", applications-required, panfandom game. I hope this turns out to have been a good idea. -_-;;;
Anyway, I bring you Miles Edgeworth, breakout character and spinoff-spawner of Ace Attorney. He has been a prosecutor for six years, and loves the job enough that his long-term-goal here is going to be getting it back. He adapts smoothly into the role of a detective, though, as his own games clearly demonstrate -- not that there wasn't a lot of detective work involved in prosecution and defense in his world in the first place, but hey.
Edgeworth is something of a stuffed shirt, but while detached and logical, isn't quite as unemotional as he'd like you to think. He's also not the most trusting person in the world, but who would be after his life? At least he's working on that. He's quite intelligent, and what little free time he allows himself tends to involve tea, wine, chess, flute-playing, listening to classical music, caring for his dog Pess, and most certainly not a certain futuristic children's action show, what are you talking about?
You may have seen me playing Edgeworth here during the "fourth wall" event; be aware that this is not the same Edgeworth I played for that event, who had thirteen months to get used to things, but is instead an Edgeworth fresh from his canon point who'll need to overcome a few obstacles. I am interested in suffering consequences related to Sifworth's visit, though (and possibly even the other Sifworth's!), so if you want to do something related to that, let's talk!
Edgeworth has the unusual distinction of never, ever having had to deal with supporting himself on a low income. As such, he'll probably need help figuring out how to get by on Minimum and even Somewhat Decent Wage. If anyone's interested in helping walk a rich snob through being poor, especially if you're in Room 3-39, poor Edgey is really out of his element in this regard.
Edgeworth is also a skeptic and a realist -- though I mean that purely in the proper sense rather than the stubbornly cynical and closed-minded sense (though it wasn't too long ago that he was the latter rather than the former). While he's going to have filled out the mountains of paperwork necessary to actually squeeze proper evidence of his world's destruction out of the Vogons, lot of things that are commonplace on the Thor are going to seem unbelievable to him at first. However, as some of those who have interacted with my Sifworth should be aware, he will come around eventually. He'll just need some serious convincing. I'm very much interested in arranging not-in-Japanifornia-anymore moments and him being presented with clear, decisive evidence that most of the ridiculous things to be found on the Thor aren't staged. I only ask that the subject of mind control be avoided for a while, as it's kind of a Big Deal and would be a massive game-breaker from his perspective.
I notice that a number of law jobs popped up on the mission list this month. Seeing as Edgeworth is liable to make a beeline for the courts to scope them out, if any if you who have taken such jobs or anyone else who would be in the vicinity would like to meet him, let's arrange something!
I've filled out a
permissions chart I've seen bouncing around here, and am interested in help in tracking down permissions posts since the mass permissions post doesn't seem to get used much.
Now excuse me while I collapse into bed now that the adrenaline has died down. -- Pteryx
