OK so I had this idea pretty early on that I'd show Matthew's crazy risk taking side by having him be on the Sigrun, sealing the Shaggoth inside of what is basically a very scary pokéball shaped like a coffin, when it blows up at the end of the plot. Can you give me a bit of a description as to what the spell will look like to everyone else when it's cast before it traps those of us special people in it? I'm curious if I can use it to ramp up some of her other CR with something like her getting trapped because she saved someone important to her.

Yeah, she wants to be a show-off.

You're in luck, since Matthew's magic looks incredibly sinister when he's not wearing his 'make his magic not sinister' ring. It'd basically look like a giant black skull with finger bones for teeth on a long flexible tentacle/arm/neck. It'll grab/swallow the target and then retract to the black sphere that contains Matthew.
