End of the month announcements!

Hey guys! It's getting to be that time again!
What time is that, you ask? Why, it's End of the Month Announcement Time, of course!
This is just a heads-up on what to expect 'round here in the next week as August rolls over to make way for September.
×) As you may have already noticed, we've finished the initial round of applications! The Room List and Taken Characters List have been updated accordingly.
×) We have a new contact post! We realize there were a lot of people on hiatus then who may have missed the initial announcement, so we're announcing it again! If you haven't already filled out your information, please take a moment to do so, so that we can put it up! And in case there are any concerns about putting contact info in a public place, the post is community-locked; only current, signed-in members of the game can see it.
×) The end of the month is near, so consider this your first reminder about the August Activity Check! As we have been having a very steady influx of new players and new characters, we will be outlining our expectations for activity in any given month based on what point in the month you've been accepted, as we've had nothing solid regarding that before now and there has been some confusion. For the short term:
If your character was accepted during the weekends of August 7th and August 14th, then we consider that plenty of time to meet full activity for the month - especially as an intro post already counts towards the activity check!
If your character was just accepted this past weekend, August 21st, then we only request one post be made before the end of the month - that being your character's intro post on the gargleblasted network!
These will be modified slightly to more general terms for permanent inclusion on the Activity Check page itself, which should be edited soon (within the next week or so).
×) And now, the announcement we know a lot of you have been waiting for for a long time now - the September Improbability Drive Event! It's not actually going to be an Improbability Drive event, as the Thor will not be traveling to a new planet next month, but it is going to be a ship-wide event along the lines of the monthly ones we've had before, with the usual opt-out option and so forth.
So what is it? Well, we've finally decided it's time for that De-aging event everyone's been asking for. Some of the scientists on the Thor are going to have a revolutionary break-through! Also, a revolutionary break-out! Small robots equipped with de-aging rays will be staging a revolt against their cruel and inhumane creators, and escape from their little boxes to run freely about the station, zapping unsuspecting passersby at random and creating all sorts of chibi havoc! The captains will be making a displeased announcement about this on Monday, August 30th, so get plotting, guys!
(Naturally, if you don't want your character de-aged, you don't have to let them encounter one of the robots, so participation is completely optional!)
The Improbability Drive Event will last for 3 or 4 days, depending on how things go, so expect it to end either Thursday, September 2nd or Friday the 3rd.
×) Monday, August 30th is also when we'll be putting up the Room Upgrades and Promotions post, for those of you who have characters interested in bettering their wages and/or living arrangements. It's going to work a little differently this time because of the terrorist event, so please carefully read the following:
× Because of the shortage of missions this month, if your character didn't find other means of earning an income, they will not be eligible for a wage increase when the promotions post goes up.
× However! If your character was eligible for a wage increase at the end of July but you didn't request one, you still can now!
× Upgrading to a new room is still possible, though considering this past month's lack of income, it might be a little tougher for your character to achieve unless they've got some money saved up. Of course, the option to bum off of friends is open as always! Just remember to check with the mun of the character yours will be living with.
× Yes, missions will resume as normal next month! They should be going up around the same time as the event ends, so keep an eye out for that! :D
