You know, saying not to use the spam comm too much sounds kind of weird. I mean, it's a spam community - isn't that what it's for? The meme part, sure, but beyond that... Especially because, well, how are we supposed to know what's too much and what isn't? Not everyone's going to agree on that, so how are we supposed to know?

I know, I don't even use the spam comm, but it just sounded weird to me.

And a week for character revival sounds painful, but okay. Conversely, I tend to agree with Adachi-mun below that maybe two weeks in jail for murder? I guess maybe because there seems to be a difference between "in jail" and "completely out of commission", at least IMHO, and also that more discouragement of random killing seems good.

That said, will characters always be caught for crimes they commit? It's not clear here and so I had to wonder.

I think I could have worded that better-- it's not that we're trying to say "HALT!!! STEP NO FURTHER INTO THIS HERE SPAM COMMUINTY!" so much as "Hey we had two memes yesterday, let's have some downtime and play the main game before hopping back in there."

o7 See my above answer to Park on the jail thing!

As for your final point, that's actually a very good question. I think it would be another case by case basis. I'm going to go out on a little bit of a limb here and say that it's relative. If you do one or two petty crimes, no biggie. If they stack up, then somebody's going to take notice. Murdering someone would get you caught, though.

regarding whether a character should alwazs be caught, im gonna saz it should definitelz be relative, a character killing people quietlz in the shadows and leaving behind little evidence is completelz different from someone stomping onto the network, holding up a dead bodz, and going HAHAHAHAHA I AM AWESOME!!!!!!!!! etc... the punishments should be more like, hez paz attention to the serious thing zoure about to do and the consequences that should happen, rather than NO MURDERER SHALL EVER GO UNCAUGHT etc

also i should bring up that if a criminal is allowed to use their guide while in jail its not much of an ooc punishment at all LOL so keep it in mind i guess

The criminal matter with being locked up isn't so much as an OOC punishment as an IC one. ...I'd actually hate the idea of 'punishing' a player for doing something that can be considered IC. At the same time, we can definitely take into consideration someone who is constantly killing people over and over and introduce taking out the Guide!

er... the thing is if a character is locked up for one week and thez still have their guide, its not a punishment at all, and its a little ridiculous to saz 'oh thez couldnt possiblz have escaped' because its equallz in character for manz to just break out or what have zou immediatelz

the onlz reason a character should mandatorilz be locked up for one week is to punish the plazer, not the character, in which case leaving the character with their guide completelz defeats the purpose

that said i dont reallz want to punish murderer characters all that much bz taking their guides either, but i just wanted to bring up how odd it looks to bother enforcing one week imprisonment in character when its hardlz a detriment to gameplaz at all, especiallz considering network spam is being encouraged so heavilz

food for thought
