Kidlet Update

Sep 11, 2013 12:24

So, remember way back when I told ya’ll I’d still be mom-blogging? Yeahhhh. Kind of dropped the ball on that one, huh? I blame Facebook. It’s such a quick and easy way to alert the masses to every anecdote and milestone (complete with pictures!). But then I remembered that not everyone I know Facebooks (I know, right?). This means these lovely, independent, social-media-free individuals are long overdue for a Kidlet Update.

That said: So begins a long-overdue Kidlet Update for those friends of mine who do not worship at the Book of Face…

Patoot Update:

My baby girl is 7 years old and a second-grader which means STOP CALLING HER A BABY, LADY. She has also very recently acquired three new holes in her head-one in the spot where her first lost baby tooth used to be, and one in each ear which are filled with EARRINGS because OMG SHE’S PRACTICALLY IN COLLEGE. Her interest in art continues to grow and develop, to the point where she actually requested an “art party” last birthday. I also happen to think she’s got a natural talent for it, bias notwithstanding.

Munchkin Update:

My baby boy is 4 years old and in pre-school but you can’t make me stop calling him my baby no no no you can’t stopppppp meeeeeeee. But seriously, he is a little boy now and has developed into, like, the cuddliest, sweetest thing ever. He’s also constantly singing, and (again, I know I’m biased), I think he carries a tune rather well for a pre-schooler. He is particularly fond of his Mommy which I am going to milk the hell out of because I know his rapture of me will be fleeting. He also pees standing up now which CRACKS ME UP because I am mentally 12.

Baby Update:
JUST KIDDING!

For serious, though, there ARE new babies in my life: My brothers and their lovely wives were kind enough to make two new baby nephews for me AND even kinder enough to ask me to be god-mommy to them. I hadn’t realized how much I missed the Baby Stage until there were actual BABIES again in my midst and holy cow, those little boys are cute. So I am enjoying every second of their baby-ness.

So there you go. Update complete, I must now venture forth in search of the Chicken & Rice Guys food truck.
