I've heard good things about Rosetta Stone, although I've never tried it myself. I should have, though, before we went to Quebec a few weeks ago. French classes for four year of high school and two years of college were not enough! --A.
I absolutely second Rosetta Stone. I used it for FREE at the good old Brooklyn Public Library. The only catch was that I had to make (and keep) an appointment for it. Perhaps there's something similar near you?
Really? Now that is interesting. We have a library in Hyde Park that's really nice and new, so it's possible they have something like that. I shall have to check it out!
