character name: Daniel Irving Cornfoot
age and birthday: // 6 August (year????? I'm bad with math)
bloodline: Pureblood.
home residence: Scotland?
house and year: Ravenclaw Sixth
current classes: TBA
appearance: With his brown hair and eyes, Dan looks very much like both of his parents - but he looks the most like his father. He is nearly a spitting image of Stephen, and for those who have known both father and son, it might be best seen in their dimpled, mischievous grins. Dan keeps his slightly wavy hair short and neat - because if it were any longer, it would probably be a rats' nest, and would get in the way of his Quidditch playing. His face is very expressive on the whole, with more broad grins than smirks and plenty of wide-eyed, shocked looks at anything that might offend his sensitive nature (not that he would ever admit his sensitivity).
Dan is also an athletic boy - as he should be, the son of two very athletic parents, and the Keeper for the Ravenclaw team. He's not very large or broad-chested, and his larger-than-life attitude often makes him look larger than he actually is. He stands at about 5'8" so far, but he's still growing (which he reminds people whenever they say he's short). He's actually a rather fit boy, if on the lean side, because he has trouble sitting still and tends to burn more calories than he can consume in a day. His cheeks still have some baby fat on them, more obvious when he smiles. Dan is always, always clean-shaven, mostly because he has trouble growing facial hair. He thinks it would be itchy, so it doesn't bother him, but the lack of facial hair contributes to his youthful looks. He doesn't look younger than his age, but he certainly doesn't look much older, either.
He's a fan of casual clothing: jeans, t-shirts and the like. But he also cleans up well, and he doesn't mind dressing up because he thinks he looks dashing. ... And he's probably right about that.

descriptive personality: Please be as detailed as possible! There's a lot to talk about. We are expecting a minimum of three cohesive paragraphs.
Daniel can be... well, rather obnoxious, to put it lightly. He thinks highly of himself (and of Ravenclaw!) and has no problem letting people know. He likes pushing buttons and especially likes it when people make it easy. He can dish it, but he really, really can't take it - at least, not from his friends. When someone turns the tables on him, Daniel reacts badly, blowing up at them and then sulking, ignoring them, or leaving presents like haggis on their pillow. He takes after his father in this way, though it's much more pronounced with Daniel. With people who aren't considered one of his close friends, he deals with it better, and does not back down from fights and struggles, but with those few he trusts like family (namely, William Goldstein), it can be quite difficult for him. He likes taking the position of a martyr; at the very least, it gets him attention. He loves attention. He got plenty growing up, but he loves causing a stir and getting people to talk about him. Some of it does come from being the eldest of the Cornfoot brood: he hasn't been coddled in ages, and he likes that feeling. So, in exchange, he seeks out attention in other ways. Some of it also comes from him just being that sort of person. Stephen has no idea where it came from, because Stephen wouldn't consider himself an attention-seeker (though he is). Daniel is also a bit rebellious, seeing no problem breaking certain rules or curfew, depending upon his mood. He thinks that he is God's Gift to women, despite being rather clueless about them (he's only 16, after all). He likes girls and he likes them to like him too.
Is there anything good about dear old Danny Boy? Well, of course. No one is perfect, after all. Daniel is an extremely protective person - especially with his sister, and his female friends. He's even protective over William, and will jump to his friend's defense at a moment's notice, even when it isn't really necessary. He might show it in a way that other people don't appreciate, but he truly does care about his friends and family. If anyone dares to insult his friends or family? Watch out. Daniel got his quick temper from his parents (though they are both much more laid-back and slower to react in their middle-age). He's also quick in the classroom and eager to please, eager to learn. When he's not being purposefully annoying, Daniel's a charming, pleasant fellow. He takes Quidditch seriously, takes his classes seriously (most of the time, and not Divination), and takes himself seriously. He lives to impress, and he is good at relaxing and having a good time, provided he hasn't recently lost a Quidditch match. He's particularly interested in the Muggle world. All of his relatives are witches and wizards, so up until Hogwarts, his experience with the Muggle world was limited to whatever his parents wanted to teach him. He was always eager to learn more, so being around people like William has really broadened his horizons. It also helps that he has a very good memory, especially for little random things, so he tends to remember bits about Muggle culture better than his father does.
All-in-all, Dan is a happy-go-lucky fellow. He's fiercely optimistic about his life and different situations around him, because he believes he's worth enough to deserve the good life. He's also very reliable: he's never late for practice, turns in his essays on time, will show up for study sessions if you ask (even if he doesn't think he needs it), and will fight to the death for his friends and family. His charisma and innate warmth (and that grin!) makes him seem like he would be a genuinely sweet fellow - and he is, sometimes - if he would only tone down some of the arrogance.
family: Please include some brief information about their parents in particular; how they met, how they were involved in the war, and things like that.
FATHER: Stephen Cornfoot
MOTHER: Louise Cornfoot (nee ???)
BROTHER: Alexander (Alex) Cornfoot, age 13, Hufflepuff
Daniel considers his brother to be something of a pest. The two boys are often found picking fights with one another, or teasing one another. Deep down, Daniel does love his brother, but he's very careful not to show it.
SISTER: Eleanor Cornfoot, age 9
As for his sister, Daniel absolutely adores her. Again, he's very careful not to express it aloud, but his actions betray his words. Daniel dotes upon her and there are very few things she can get out of him when she really tries.
PETS: an owl named ____; a Flemish Giant rabbit named
Killer.
EXTENDED FAMILY:
paternal grandparents: William & Marilyn Cornfoot
maternal grandparents:
detailed history:
-mother: Louise ???, French witch
-how they met: Louise was friends with Stephen's cousin???
When Stephen was three years old, his younger brother, Alexander (Alex) was born, and four years after that, the youngest and the baby of the family, Eleanor (Ellie) was born. As the oldest, Daniel is very independent and protective of his family (though he doesn't always show the latter). For a few years, Daniel was an only child and though he wasn't aware of it, he had gotten used to the idea. Suddenly, another child was there to take his parents' attention away from him, and in some ways, Daniel was left to fend for himself. He never really minded; he always found some way to amuse himself, whether that be by making castles in the sandbox or by burning ants through a magnifying glass. He was a bully with his brother, less so with his sister because he couldn't hit girls and because she was so much younger. Towards her, he felt an intense affection, and was often found attempting to teach her how to play with a toy even though she was a few months old. Later on, he would read to her, show her his Hogwarts text books. With his brother, he was more physical and scrappy. The boys were frequently brought to St. Mungo's during their childhoods, before Daniel went off to Hogwarts, because they had trouble controlling their tempers and therefore, their magical powers, when they fought. Eventually, they learned (thanks to Stephen) to take it out on the make-shift Quidditch pitch in the back yard. Though Louise didn't approve of Stephen's teaching their children how to fly at a young age, it was better than having them fight all of the time. At least they would be outside and getting exercise, right?
Because both of his parents were wizards, it was no surprise when Daniel's Hogwarts letter arrived. Because his father was a Ravenclaw on top of that, it was even less of a surprise that Daniel had been sorted into Ravenclaw too. It was sort of expected, in a way, and the two had been attempting to cultivate it. Aside from a natural curiosity and intelligence, Daniel also inherited his father's Quidditch skills - though Daniel is much better and can now kick his father's arse. He tried out for the team during his first year at Hogwarts - didn't make it - and then during his second year. He has been on the team ever since as a Chaser. Daniel fit in there and takes a lot of pride in his house, often teasing his younger brother for being the odd one out. If Daniel has it his way, Ellie will also be a Ravenclaw when her time comes.
Though his friends tend to be other Ravenclaws, almost exclusively, Daniel will talk to those outside of his house... but he's not always nice. His Ravenclaw pride walks the line between complete and utter arrogance and, well, not. He believes his house is the best, and there aren't many people he respects outside of the house, because if they were intelligent and interesting, wouldn't they be in Ravenclaw too? Everyone else is good for entertainment value - or for a good example of "What Not To Do/Wear/Look Like/Be Like." He met one of his closest friends, William Goldstein (the son of one of his parents' former housemates! Daniel thought that was pretty cool, right away.), early on, and the two boys could not be more different. They're an odd pair, but Daniel respects William (hello, Ravenclaw is the best) and thinks he's a pretty sweet bloke. Most of the time.
A significant childhood memory:
