you won't like him when he's angry... (open)

Not that he is. At all. Curufin's expressions are perfectly smooth, controlled, even his smiles apparently genuine. Oh, sure, under that he may well be feeling an extremely murderous impulse, but he keeps it very well hidden. He is free, and wishes it to remain that way. Until he can get his brothers back under control, or at least neutralize ( Read more... )

If Curufin wants to bark at Galadriel, she is (yet again) in the library, pouring over some manuscript with focused attention. There has to be away for her to heal Fingon and to fortify her defenses against Morgoth, not to mention Maeglin's and Celegorm.

Curufin does not want to bark at Galadriel. Curufin wants to kill Galadriel slowly and painfully and preferably after killing someone she cares about. Finrod would just be dull, though, he's done that one. He'll work it out.

All the same, though, he knows he can't risk that with Celegorm how he is. He should know better, really, having come off so much worse last time they faced each other, but who ever accused Curufin of making too much logical sense?

He didn't know she would be here, and is mostly looking for records, of some kind. It seems important to catch up on what he's missed. However.

"Ah. Well." He has that very slight, not quite overtly sinister smile on, as though he is amused to see her there.

She doesn't look up. "I was beginning to wonder when I would have the pleasure of your presence, cousin."

Her tone is icy, as it ever was.

"It seems you have found it. You should count yourself lucky." His tone is equally cool, if in a slightly more casual way. For the moment. We doubt it will last long; Curufin's tolerance for Arafinweans is very short. Particularly this one. "Busy? I should so hate to interrupt your no doubt vital work."

"Then by all means do not." She makes as if to resume her work - which she had never really interrupted, to start. Her tone is still absently sedate.

"I'm afraid I have pressing business of my own with you." He doesn't move. "Or I would not dream of it. I would not detain you for long, and I'm sure you will manage to focus again." Still perfectly cool and collected, of course. So far.

"I don't think we have anything to tell each other that has not already been said, Atarinke."

"No," he says, too quietly. "We have not."

In a few strides, he comes to the table where she is sitting, puts one hand over the manuscript, and leans over her, taking advantage of his height and intimidating closeness. Or it would be for anyone else. "Though only one," he says, very low, eyes boring into her. "You will, from this moment forward, stay away from my brothers. Particularly Turco. Is that clear? His life is no business of yours and I will not have you making it so."

She looks up, sustains his gaze with that strange, knowing look of hers. After a moment, she says, "Is that all?"

As if he'd spoken about the weather.

That pokes at his temper. He takes a breath through his nose, and leans forward, closer to her, refusing to be intimidated. "No. I want to know that you understand, and that if you defy me, there will be consequences." He doesn't quite sneer. "Soon enough it should be no problem. But for the moment, I will know that you have no contact with him."

It's a good sign, really, that he believes so strongly in her power over his brother. In a way, in doing so he gives it to her, and reinforces it.

She glances at him, completely inexpressive. "Will that be all?"

Ohhh this is pissing him off. That's a good thing. Sort of. It makes him less controlled, usually, which may be less dangerous, especially if you're Galadriel. However, for the moment-

He draws back, sharply. "You will acknowledge that you understand and acquiesce. That is all."

She turns back to her work. "Oh, I understand perfectly." And she resumes working.

As if he weren't there.

GRRRRRRRRRRR. He would snatch the pen away, but that seems immature. His eyes narrow, however, the tic jumping in his cheek for a moment before he forces it still, though his teeth are still gritted like iron.

"Perhaps I have not made myself clear," tightly, but still trying to contain his tone. And avoid direct threats. Thus far. He's considering going against that.

Is that a fly buzzing in the library? Strange, we thought it was all air-controlled. Well then.

In otherwords, she still ignores him completely.

He doesn't quite snarl. But the noise is something like. Hand on book again, blocking the reading, dammit, and doing his best to loom effectively. It might work on anyone else. Probably not her, even if it is now even more evident that pissed is the word of the day. "Do you deny that you have entered his mind through your witchery, on more than one occasion?"
