On New Years Eve I was alone by choice.
I wanted Ben and Jaz to have the night to themselves and what not.
So after they left, I decided to go on one of many walks that night.
I walked to Sonic's and had a chilli dog. That was rather good.
I continued back to the apartment where I watched Ronin.
After Ronin I took another walk to get a piece of apple pie and a cup of coffee at The Waffle House.
On my way back to the apartment, I saw that there was this church having New Years Eve service...
I felt compelled to go there.
As I walked through the door, I was greeted by this kindly woman and I sat down in the back row. There were only about 11 people in the church, all much older than I, but the music was familiar and I was lonely...
I felt very at home there.
As the New Year came, a few of the people started to leave. I was rather sad that the night was about to come to an end, because I wanted to stay longer...
Just then a couple members of the congregation introduced themselves to me and asked if I would like to take part in a Native Christian American worship circle, with drums and singing.
I was glad to join and we had a very good time.
I felt so connected to these people and they helped me strengthen my faith.
I told them of how I had led my life as a Carnal Christian for so very long and how I had strayed from the path so far...
and how that night I had prayed to God and just thanked Him for all of His blessings and everything good in my life and asked for His forgiveness for all the wickedness I was so guilty of.
It was the first time in a long time that I was moved to tears by the Spirit.
It was a beautiful thing, having hands placed on me by strangers made brothers and sisters by Christ's love.
It made my New Year’s Eve the best New Year’s Eve I have had in a very long while.
Thank you God for your blessings and grace and bless those awesome people I met at that church. They helped you reach me in a way I had long forgotten and I am very grateful for their appearance in my life.
Now that I am home, I look forward to my renewed step and I hope to be a better example of Christ's love and forgiveness.
I hope you all had a great New Year and God Bless.
Much Love, Folks.
Richard Medina.
