December had seemed to come upon the island at breakneck speed, taking with it the warmer climate and fair weather. Darcy was intensely glad that the house itself was all but completed by the time they were beset with the snow, for construction would have been rendered impossible. Fortunately, all that had remained were finishing touches to the interior, as well as continued construction on the necessary furnishings, with which Mr. Redman had been a vast help.
A mere nine days from the time he was intended to officially present the finished New Pemberley Manor to Elizabeth, Darcy requested an afternoon, in the hopes that he might allow his betrothed a tour of her gift and future residence.
