As was perhaps to be expected in such an environment, Darcy had taken of late to a decidedly more casual manner of dress. He would likely never be comfortable in the brightly-colored, often vulgar modern clothing that the basement bin saw fit to so often provide, but he was satisfied enough with the few articles he had procured from his own time period, and most days went about without any sort of coat on and his linen shirt opened at the neck due to the often oppressive heat.
So it was that it was clear enough that something was afoot, as he was fully and properly dressed as he approached the Redman residence, waistcoat and greatcoat and cravat all, and if the sweltering heat was any bother to him, he showed it not at all.
After stopping before the front door, he gave himself only a few seconds to collect his thoughts before he rapped smartly against the wood twice, and waited.
