theatrical_muse :: Control.

con·trol [kuhn-trohl] verb, -trolled, -trol·ling, to exercise restraint or direction over; dominate; command.

It's strange, really. I've been in positions of implied control, but it isn't often that I've actually been the one in control of a situation. I've been a Prefect, and yes, I admit, I had my hopes on being Head Girl. My prefectly duties were not often ones where control was readily held and used. It was simply to lead, to guide, to set a proper example. Prefects like Malfoy displayed all sorts of inappropriate control techniques, but that really wasn't what it was about.

In the time that I was away with Ronald and Harry, it wasn't ever a situation of control either. It was responsibility and shared roles; the only sense of control was over what we eat and where we would relocate to. More often than not, we tended to argue, but it was a unique circumstance. I had self-control, which I only lost one, though I feel it was entirely justified as Ronald did, in fact, deserve it for abandoning us. But, self-control is slightly different from the subject at hand as that only refers to the control of oneself, not of others.

But, in my work with the ministry, I'm learning about control, how to utilize it properly. It's both a helpful and hindering tool, depending upon one's use of it. It's still something I'm working on as a matter of personal growth and development.
