Buttercup: Westley, what about the R.O.U.S.'s?
Westley: Rodents Of Unusual Size? I don't think they exist.
[Immediately, an R.O.U.S. attacks him]
Day 2 - Your Favorite Movie
Yeah, not too hard to figure out, eh? I think it's popular enough that there's no need for a synopsis. (If you by chance haven't seen it ... have you been living under a rock these last 23 years? Go watch it!)
I cannot tell you how many times I've seen the Princess Bride. It is one of the earliest movies I remember watching (my mom would play it while she did her morning exercises back when I was 4 or so, and I would sit and watch the movie), and since my childhood I've seen it over and over again. I never get sick of it. "Fencing, fighting, torture, revenge, giants, monsters, chases, escapes, true love, miracles..." It has both sweetness and satire in perfect proportions. Not to mention, it's hilarious and extremely quotable.
Vizzini: He didn't fall? Inconceivable!
Inigo Montoya: You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.
Fezzik: Why do you wear a mask? Were you burned by acid, or something like that?
Man in Black: Oh no, it's just that they're terribly comfortable. I think everyone will be wearing them in the future.
Inigo Montoya: HELLO! MY NAME IS INIGO MONTOYA! YOU KILLED MY FATHER! PREPARE TO DIE!
Of course, I have other favorite movies too, some of which are:
Tony Takitani: A Japanese film chiefly about loneliness ... also, clothing. Tragic, with a storybook quality and images that continue to resonate with me.
Stranger Than Fiction: A man discovers an author has somehow tapped into his life for her next book. But will his story be a comedy, or a tragedy?
Jurassic Park: DINOSAURS!
The Last Unicorn (animated): Another childhood favorite I still adore. Just a beautiful movie.
Labyrinth: The Goblin King kidnaps Sarah's baby brother and she must navigate a labyrinth to rescue him. Features crazy puppets and David Bowie wearing no tight pants.
Twelfth Night (1996): My favorite Shakespeare play. Involves shipwrecks, cross-dressing, mistaken identities, and a scene involving a bathtub.
Mean Girls: Very quotable, hilarious.
