back at school after a pretty neat weekend at home
drove down to stafford friday night and went with dad to best buy...i returned my iPod mini using the product protection plan i'd bought so i had a ton of store credit to spend. i bought my Nintendo DS, which is just the coolest thing ever. I got a copy of Nintendogs for it, and that's been pretty fun so far, and I think it will just get better as I unlock more crap. I understand not everyone sees the appeal, but i enjoy it, so pbbbt. also bought Advance Wars: Dual Strike, this RTS-esque game. it's the latest in the series, and i haven't played any of the previous, but i'm really enjoying this one. except i've been stuck on this one battle for like 2 days now, and i still don't have any idea how to win. i haven't lost yet, either. just get stuck in a stalemate, pretty much, until i get frustrated and quit. i had some credit left to spend, so i picked up season 1 of Buffy the Vampire Slayer...i loved that show so much back in the day, and still watch reruns when i come across them. i'd been lamenting the fact i didn't own the seasons, so i made the first step in fixing that problem. however, as far as i know, i am the only person i know that likes the show, so i suspect i'll be watching it alone.
saturday, woke up and went to the Virginia State Fair with the parents, sister, and brother-in-law. it was awesome, as always, especially so because i hadn't been in 4 years. highlights include: 25-cent chocolate milk, deep-fried oreos, pig races, the zipper, getting licked by a goat, and new hot sauce. i also entered a drawing (something i do once every like, 3 years...i usually don't see the point) to win this leather massage chair - the most comfortable chair of all time. then we ate at fuddrucker's and i collapsed as soon as i got home
sunday i woke up and did some crap, mom opened birthday presets and we ate an ok meal, then i drove back to su. dad is letting me keep the van here for a little while so i can drive myself home for fall break. yays. this week is going to be ok, i guess....it will be awesome come Friday when i get to go see Serenity
tomorrow/today is going to be a very long day, and it's not helping that i have to wake up at 8 and it's currently 5....looks like it may be an all-nighter, kids...at any rate, i'm done with this entry now.
