dont even know what to say.
um.
I don't want our show to be star wars.
it would be ironic since John Williams wasn't in the top 10.
gee, who knew he was the composer for star wars anyway?! ...anyone?! . . . . . . huh. (*SK moment*)
besides, if you know anything about John Williams (doubt it, Kelly) you would know that he composes with mainly strings. when strings have to be arranged into marching band scores, it doesn't turn out that great
but among controversial arrangers, there's bound to be too many arrangements available.
that means we'll get stuck with a watered-down version that doesn't to the original score justice.
John Williams was a trumpet player?
let's take a poll on what instruments he favors? yeah. ..and all brass.
sucks to be a woodwind. you'll be lucky if you have a part that counts.
not saying that will happen....just putting it out there that it's really likely.
With the trumpet, John williams loves repetition and simple rhythms.
backed up with a strong band. ....... which we are not.
He's famous for movies which is different than Bach or Gershwin or Beethoven who compose for the sake of being a motivated composer. not for spiffing up movies and curing the deadness of film backgrounds.
~he's not dead yet.~
don't get me wrong, I have to hand it to him, managing to sprinkle his products of inspiration onto good films is respectable.
but if you ask me, his inspiration's running a little thin.
in regards to repetition, even props and impressive drill can't cover for how dull the show may turn out the be.
Knowing the musicianship of the incoming freshman, I doubt we could pull off a star wars show.
and all that's not even considering the fact that I personally don't like star wars.
anyway
winter guard try outs. guess I'll go for it.
drum major try outs...don't know anything about it..but I guess I'll go for it.
I know I REALLY want to be drum major. it's been my dream for like...ever.
Ever since I started watching marching bands which was around 3rd or 4th grade.
conclusion: find money to pay for it. stop being a poor kid for a change.
and make an effort to afford something I really want.
Go see Hello Dolly, pass it on.
everyone on my friends list probably knows about it or is in it anyway.
I do agree with Sara Kindred though. having no one to hug after the show is one of the worst feelings.
it's getting harder showing how much you care for people.
I've almost given up.
I'll still be out there, willing to make new friends...and trying to keep what few I have.
I still love everyone.
I love you.
reallly.
I just don't know what I have to do anymore to see something change. I'm afraid if something changed it might be for the worse.
dont know how to make it better.
got more 'happy birthdays' than I expected. that really made my day extra special.
you think I should be a cake decorator? I heard DQ needs one.
