Julia's room in Portland, Oregon. Sun. May 7, 2006.
It's been more than a week since I came home from 10 day vac from Portland and now I can smell the air! It's polluted! Oregon air definitely spoiled me. Though I always think about Portland, I actually love living in Tokyo. It took me long time to say this, but yeah, I love Tokyo. I've been living here since I was five. I'm 29 now. I spent 6 years outside of Tokyo/Japan. So that makes... well, I've lived in Tokyo for 18 years. The 6 years I spent oversears have great impact on me and I felt like I was a stranger in Tokyo for a pretty long time. Now it's almost gone. I've made some new friends, I'm finally starting to enjoy my work and I love the convenince of living in Tokyo. I mean we can pretty much get anything here. As long as I get to go back to Portland once in a while, I think I'll get along with Tokyo just fine. :p
One of the things I am happy to be able to get right here in Tokyo is well, those BL/yaoi drama CDs. I am hooked on one voice actor ever since I heard him on my first CD. His name is Daisuke Hirakawa and he was a TOP in the particular CD. His voice is unique and he really caught my attention. Then the second CD I got had him again, but only he was a BOTTOM this time. And god, he SOUNDS perfect doing uke-bottom! Comparing to other BL actors, he's still new to the 'world' and hasn't done much. Knowing myself, I will probably buy every CDs with him doing the main uke. And now I am thinking about doing something that I'd never thought I would do. Hirakawa san dubs the voice of Orlando Bloom and I'm thinking about renting dubbed movies so that I can hear his voice. This is to me, unfuckingbelievable because the very reason why I decided to learn English was because I wanted to understand English spoken movies without subtitles or dub. I never watch dubbed ones... but now it's going to change. Oh yeah, I'm hooked. The thing is..., he's not at all good-looking. But I love his voice.
Thank you,
