Flowers on the desk, but the life still goes on...

Something happened on last Friday... I came to work on usual time and I worked normally for half an hour then when I stood up from my chair to go to a locker room, I saw a vase-ful of flowers on my co-workers desk. Question mark went in head immediately and asked my co-worker casually, "What's going on?" He frowned, brought me to the corner of the room and told me, "He past away." "What do you mean, past away?" "Means exactly that." My co-worker of three and half years passed away on the way to work last Thursday. Apparently he had a some kind of attack due to his chronic disease he had and he passed away at the hospital he was taken to. He was only 35. We were never close. We said good morning and good bye when we passed by each other, but that was it. But then, even that, he was my co-worker nonetheless and I saw him everyday for the past three and half years. Every time I turn at my desk, I see flowers on his desk and I can't help but hold my gaze there and feels my heart tighten.

Now it's been a week since he passed away. We work just as same as we did before. We laugh just like we did before. There's nothing wrong with it. That's how it is.

I'm not a religious person, but I pray. May his soul rest in peace.
