Why is "hardcore" so lame now? Why does every fucking show around here have to be a fest? I wanted to see Dillinger Escape Plan, but didn't feel like seeing any of the 20 or so other bands that were playing (with the exception of Titan). I'd like to go to the 7 Angels 7 Plagues show, but only to see Light This City and Suicide Silence. Not the 12 other bands.
Seriously, fucking knock it off. These shows, these kids, these bands... that's why I don't go to shows anymore. There's nothing worth seeing, and if by some small miracle there is a band worth seeing, said band is lumped on to a show fest with 400 other bands.
I'm sick of this shit. It's absurd.
Here's what I want to see, right now (in no particular order):
Panic
Ceremony
Ruiner
To The Lions
TAEA
That's it. 5 bands. Remember those kind of shows?
These fucking wishy-washy "hardcore" kids won't go to a show like that, though. Because there's not enough bands. There's not enough time to use the fucking dance floor like a god damn runway, showing off their cool new haircuts, or sweaters, or fingerless gloves, or whatever the fuck these assholes are calling cool now.
Whatever.
R.I.P. hardcore in Virginia.
**edit: I'm not saying those 5 bands are the only bands I'd like to see, so don't get your panties in a bunch. Just saying that's a hypothetical show I'd love to go to immediately, if not sooner.**
