Back to Work
Well, once again I find myself back to work tomorrow.
Picking up where the last entry left off. The aquarium was cool. We went shopping later that evening and I spent way too much money but got some cool stuff. I bought a work out suppliment and after I got it home to discover it is covered in warning lables to includes ones such as; "DO NOT SHAKE CONTAINER!" "CAUTION: Highly Sensitive to Atmospheric Dispersion" "WARNING: DO NOT EXCEED RECOMMENDED DOSAGE. EVER." If I take this stuff, is my heart going to explode?
NASCAR was actually pretty boring. I think this was due to the present company. No offense to my mom and brother, it's just not the kind of venue where you go and be mellow. Now if you gave me a tailgate, a cooler full of beer, and a group of people who think having a good time should include copious amounts of drinking, I think that NASCAR would be a riot. Maybe some other day.
In other news, my grandma is in the hospital again and this time it is not looking good. It hasn't looked good in the past but I'm told this time it REALLY doesn't look good. Mom predicts to loose her by the end of the week. It's sad yet it is getting close to her time, she is no longer doing well at all and it is hard on everyone including her.
In other, less depressing news, I called my unit and learned that I am going to be assigned to the 101st, 3rd brigade, 1-33rd cavalry. I never aspired to go to a cavalry unit, but now that I am going to one I am really excited over it. I'm not sure how different this will make my job, but I do get to wear a stetson (cowboy hat) and spurs.
Big news: the latest I will be getting deployed will be June 7th. However it is very likely I will be leaving for Iraq sooner than that. There is a rumor we will be back before christmas, but that is the 3rd infantry regiment, not the 1-33rd cav, so I can't make any predictions.
I filed my taxes today, I'm getting $2300 back from Uncle Sam, finally I can pay off my credit cards! Sadly I'll probably be in Iraq by the time that money finds it's way to me.
I was going to start copying down my journal from Ranger School, but I figure this is long enough already so I will let you all go. Tomorrow I will begin posting my ranger school (mis)adventures.
