I suspect that's what we'll get in comics. I have the impression that Joss plans to reverse the situation on Buffy's love front. On TV Angel was unattainable and the rest of Buffy's love interests were actively wooing her. In comics, Angel is actively wooing her, asking her to stay with him in paradise forever, while Xander turns her down. And it's pretty possible that the situation with Spike will be same.

But we'll see.

This is just beautiful. The comics are just horrible. Love how Buffy is stand just behind Spike. She looks so sad and Spike looks like he wants to kill whatever made her unhappy.
