Buffy willing to risk everyone else's lives to protect a Spike she knew was killing people but didn't know why.
I'm sure she'd do the same for Xander, Willow, Giles if they'd find themselves in a similar situation.
But if she'd thrown herself into his arms and had public sonic sex without asking any questions or pausing for more than a nanosecond, that would have been so awesome! And totally okay because it was fate! OMG their love was so twu!!! {This is sarcasm by the way. After all, Spike only begged to be killed, got tortured, and then had to die saving the world but it's evil, evil, evil to have any attachent to them no matter how complicated, unresolved, and unconsummated. It's totally worse than sonic sex while actively destroying the world and in the immediate aftermath of the slaughter of hunderds of Slayers! Who does Spike think he is? Twangel?)[/sarcasm]
