I'm very envious of your Skate American line up. If only I could have stretched my holiday out a leeetle longer. But no, I'm already gone for longer than my work would like. :(

But I quite like the Skate Canada line up (Oda! Adam! Although, Johnny Weir's name on the list is just upsetting. I wish it wasn't there at all. It's too much, "oh, what could have been..."). The ladies group in particular looks interesting. Who to go for? Hmmm...

Mao or Daisuke would have been bliss, but maybe I'll go to worlds... have ice skating fandom will travel and so on. *g*

The other irony is, I had been planning to go to Skate Canada instead of Skate America this year, because thistle90 can't go to SA. But I love Portland and have a bunch of friends there, so it ended up making more sense to go to SA.

Your ladies' lineup looks way better than mine. I don't even know who I'm going to root for.

And I was supposed to go to Portland! The whole plan was to do the west coast. And I could easily have made arrangements around Skate America too - but then my friend said he was spending his 30th bday in NY and I changed my plans so I could be there for that. Which will be GREAT if it happens. If it doesn't I'm going to hit him over the head with a bunch of roses and say, "I could have seen Daisuke and Meryl and Charlie, you bastard!"

I don't even know who I'm going to root for.

Whoever is the hottest?

OMG, you're going to be in New York when I'm in Portland? So, like, I'm going to miss you when you're in my neighborhood? This is sucking more and more.

Laura Lepistö is the hottest in the ladies' field at SA. And the most boring skater ever. No way I'm rooting for her.

I'm in NY around the 17th October - which is my friend's bday. I think State America is around Nov 11 - 14? To be in NY for my friend's bday and Portland for Skate America would stretch my holiday out into the 5 week mark and that's probably not do-able ( ... )

I should be in town in mid-October. Send me an e-mail if that works out. Unfortunately, "decent women's bar" is an oxymoron in New York. I can take you to a mediocre one if you like.

annaalamode and I got so tired of the obnoxious patriotism at Skate America '07 that we started yelling "Go Canada!" at the top of our lungs for all the Canadians. We got smiles from Mira Leung and Patrick Chan.

I'll probably end up cheering for Murakami, who is everything she is cracked up to be. She's like a female Takahashi. Not hot, though, yet.

I'm from Perth, Western Australia. It's sort of like that Shangri La in that movie - very pretty, very clean, beautiful people but all very dumb. Suffice to say, I will be easily impressed.

I have a feeling my friends will bow out of NY. They have a tendency to not do what they say they will. But I could be surprised. I hope so - because I love NY and it will be nice to hang out with my friends and have locals show me mediocre women's bars. *g*

I like Ksenia Makarova. She's all arms and legs. I like the gangly girls.
