1. Every year, I forget how much I love the Super Bowl, and then I watch it and remember that as a full-blooded Midwesterner, I am wired from birth to get really excited about one football game a year. Did you SEE that touchdown in the first fourteen seconds? Dude.
2. If someone were to write Evan/Stephane based on the fact that Evan forgot Steph's name at his post-LP press conference? Like, angry, bitter, I am going to Worlds to show you what you dumped for a damn girl? Yes.
ETA:Also, any fic in which our normally squeaky clean skaters are covered in mud. For any reason.
3. Finished making matches and sending emails for femslash07. People seem pleased, or at least, we are not deluged with angry missives.
3a. Dear femslash07 writer,
The truth is, I'm pretty flexible. What I really like is originality: stuff that's not along the same old genre and plot lines, something that puts forth a clever and new perspective on whatever source material. That's especially important for my Buffyverse and Firefly requests, because it's pretty easy to retread that stuff. Be creative and write what you feel, and I'll pretty much be happy.
There are a few things I'm not crazy about. I find fluff without plot irritating. If there's porn (and I hope there's porn, but only if you feel comfortable) keep it in character and realistic and avoid bad euphemisms. Babyfic and pregnancy almost always squick me. I tend not to enjoy afterlife fic or zombies.
Muppets, however, are fine.
If you've skimmed this journal at all, you've noticed that I'm a wee bit obsessed with figure skating. Even if you don't choose that option -- and I'm assuming you won't, because again, I know who you are -- little sideways references to the current obsession make me squee. I have a weakness for f/f sex scenes involving sex toys and anal play, although again, only if you feel comfortable. Witty, bantery exchanges are my preferred mode of communication. Banter and pop culture references.
