1. What do you think Neville's role will be in the final book?
First, I don't think Neville, Ginny, and Luna will go on the Horcrux hunt with the trio. That said, I'm afraid we won't see very much of them in the first part of the book, since the story will most likely follow the Trio on the hunt. *sad* Neville will probably stay at school and ace his Herbology NEWT and get it on with Luna (I wish). They will definitely be there at the end, though, fighting the good fight alongside the Order. I will squee until my head pops off if Neville gets to fight Bella. I will cry until I die of dehydration if he dies. Wait, I'm supposed to say what I think will happen, not how I will react. I think that Neville and Bella have to have a showdown of some kind. And as strong as she is, I think Neville can rise to the occasion. But, like Face said, I don't think he has it in him to cast an Unforgiveable, no matter what and no matter whom. I picture it as Neville disarming her and Stupefying her, and then telling her that he's not going to pay her back for what she did, even though she deserves it. He'll let the authorities handle her from there, and then he'll go tell his parents that he fought her and won. And then that will cure Frank and Alice and Neville will GET HIS PARENTS BACK!!!1!!11! Ok, not that last part... but I think he will go tell his parents what happened. I also hope, looking forward a bit, that if there is a new Order (even though Voldie will be dead, they might start a new Order to keep checks on Dark Wizards/ex-DEs and make sure that no one like Voldie-poops ever rises again) Neville will join it in memory of his parents.
2. Do you think Voldemort will actually be destroyed, or will he end up in Azkaban?
-_- Are you kidding?
3. Do you think the Dursleys will have much of a role?
They'll be there at the beginning, since Herry's going back until he turns 17. Beyond that, I can't see much happening. Everyone says that something will happen with Petunia, but I think that, even if there is something big, it'll happen near the beginning and then the Dursleys will all kind of fade away (except for maybe the epilogue where we learn that Dudley died of a heart attack at age 22).
4. Who is one (major or minor) character you would love to see return in the final book?
Dead people stay dead, though DD will probably be there in some way - even if it's just through his portrait in the Headmaster's Office. Other than that, I really want to see Fred and George help in some way. They've already invented Shield Cloaks, and I hope they contribute more to the final battle. Maybe they can give Voldie a Puking Pastille or a Ton-Tongue Toffee and then kill 'im while he's down.
5. Would you like the epilogue to extend until the ends of the characters' lives LOTR-style, or would you just like to know up to, say, the next decade?
She's totally going to go Tolkien on us. Though it'll suck for fanfic/fanart, I think it would be awesome to know how the creator sees it all ending.
Speaking of book seven, I had a "release party" dream last night.
slythern_face and
worri were there, but sadly
severity_softly and
hiddenfantasy weren't. :( Anyway, it started out as not being about the DH release. We were at a park and there was a Mariachi band playing (yeah...). So there are all these shops and stuff around the park, so we start to wander in and out of them. We come to this bookstore and wander around. I found DH on the shelf and rather casually tell Worri, who's right next to me. I was really, really, really sad because the cover was a pastel, happy yellow with little red flowers all over it. Didn't really communicate the whole "Deathly" thing. Oh! And it was SUPER short. Shorter and smaller than book 1. In the dream I didn't seem to care, but when I woke up I was soooooooo sad. Anyway, Worri and I were each going to get a copy and we couldn't find Face anywhere! Neither of us had the money to buy her a copy, but we didn't want to get the books without her getting one. So we left WITHOUT DH.
Then we were driving around, trying to find Face, and saw her disappear into another bookstore. We went to follow her, but there was this big, tough, burly guy standing in the street in the way. I honked, he flipped me off, and we continued into the bookstore. I had a very bad feeling about this guy, but I didn't say anything. At this bookstore, Worri and I told Face about the book and she was just like, "Oh, cool. We should each get a copy." So we did. We also each got another book that was called something like "The Official Harry Potter Dictionary." Then when we got back in the car, I felt very odd, so I motioned for the girls to get out again. We did, and I went around to the back of the car (I have an SUV, so the "trunk" is part of the car itself) and opened it. The guy I had honked at was there with a knife, pissed that I had honked at him. We beat him with our HP books.
The End.
Do I have a sign on my forehead that says, "Dear strangers, please do awkward things around me. I love awkward situations!!"? Seriously... you guys are my friends - you can tell me! Maybe I should explain. Last night after swimming, I got in the hot tub, like always, to relax and stretch so I don't get sore from the swim. Usually I'm the only one out there. Not last night. There was another girl there, and I was going to at least be polite and say hi. But she didn't even look at me. Sad times. Almost immediately after I got in, her boyfriend called her. So she's sitting across the hot tub from me, purposefully not looking at me, talking in a super girly voice to her bf. "Hey, baby! I'm wearing your swim trunks!" "I'm going to make you chicken for dinner, baby!" Wow.
Then today, I was sitting in the student center waiting for my professor's office hours to start. I was sipping at a Jamba Juice smoothie and working on my NaNo novel. This woman came over and sits at my table without saying a word. Now, this will happen in teh student center sometimes when all the tables are full around lunch time and I dodn't really mind. Most people ask first, though... But today, there were at least two or three open tables nearby that she could have taken. But, no... she sat with me for no reason. Again, there was no eye contact and no speaking, even though I tried to smile at her. THEN! She started going, "Mmmm..." and "So good!" as she ate her Wendy's chili. It was sooooo strange. I was only too glad to go to office hours...
So, is there a sign, guys? What's going on here?
