I have a massive headache and no medicine here at work. :( I think seeing two movies in one day and then not getting enough sleep is not good for my head.
But I did get to see Easy A and The Social Network last night.
Easy A was pretty good. It reminded me a little bit of Juno with the whole pretentious, fast-talking teenagers thing, but it felt much more "real," if that makes sense. I liked the literary allusions, the characters (Stanley Tucci, you can do no wrong; Thomas Haden Church, I have loved you since Wings and George of the Jungle), and the witty humor. I recommend it, but it doesn't need to be seen in the theater.
The Social Network was also good. Not that the plot was groundbreaking or OMGAMAZING or anything, but the movie itself is very, very well done. The opening scene was my favorite part, mostly because it reminded me SO MUCH of the early days of The West Wing. (Aaron Sorkin, creator and original head writer of TWW, wrote the movie's screenplay.) The acting and editing were really good, too; it was just very well executed. There were a few hilarious moments, and the actor playing Eduardo was INSANELY gorgeous. I loved the score; Trent Reznor was the co-composer, which was really cool. Definitely worth seeing, though it's not something you MUST see in the theater.
And now back to your regularly scheduled headache.
