(no subject)
It's been a while since I updated. Just haven't had much to talk about. :)
I went to see Claire Wyndham and Oval Opus a couple of weeks ago, but that's about it. A couple of friends and I were planning on going to the Minneapolis Renn Faire last weekend, but the trip was cancelled at the last minute. (Note to colliedoc: they haven't actually charged anything yet, so I don't know how much it's going to be.) I'm sad about that, 'cause I've never been and 'cause I wanted to help seimaisin celebrate her birthday. :) Instead, I spent the weekend doing laundry, doing a bit of cleaning, reading, and sleeping. My apartment still looks like a hurricane came through, but at least *I* know that I've made some progress. :)
piwacket wanted me to try making chocolate-covered-cherries jello shots... I mixed them up last night, but I'm not sure how it's going to work. The creamy chocolate liquor doesn't mix very well with the hot water/jello, and it separated as it was cooling. I haven't actually *tasted* one of them yet, but I'm definitely not pleased with the experiment based on looks. :) Maybe I need some other type of chocolate liquor? Is there any kind that isn't cream-based?
I've been trying to sort through my BPAL perfumes lately, too. I have so many imps that I've never even sniffed, and I figured I needed to do something with them. So I did an initial culling of the ones that I just didn't like the smell of in the imp, and then from the ones left, I started testing a different one each day on my skin.
Anyone on my friendslist interested in any of the imps I don't like? :) The ones up for grabs so far:
Anne Bonny, Arkham, Blood Kiss, Calico Jack, Death On A Pale Horse, Debauchery, Iambe, Jailbait, Lilium Inter Spinas, Masquerade, Nero, Seance, Somnus, sophia, The hamptons, Umbra, Utrennyaya, and Yggdrasil.
I also have 5ml bottles of Nuclear Winter and Talvikuu available.
The ones I've tested that I love:
I already knew that I liked Bayou, Leanan Sidhe, and Oisin.
I also really like Arachne, Crossroads, and Szepasszony.
Dublin was nice, but was very similar to Leanan Sidhe and Oisin to me, so not worth the effort of finding a bottle-- especially since it's discontinued now.
Alice was weird. I like the smell in the bottle, but I find that it's absolutely VILE when I put it on... then, about an hour later, after it's dried down, I really like it. I still can't decide if the dry scent is worth the hour's torture of wanting to hold my breath and scrub my wrists. ;)
Bastet and Skuld are both scents that I like, but aren't at the top of my "I NEEEEED a bottle of this list. :)
Today, I'm wearing Tintagel. I like it. It's staying on the "this is ok, but not fabulous, so I'm keeping the imp but not ordering a bottle" list. :)
Pi, the imps you requested are already set aside in a different bag for the next time I see you. :)
Heroes: I'm already fascinated with this season, although I'm confused about why no one seems to remember one another. :p
Prison Break: WTF was in that box?! ARGH!!!!
Did anyone other than seimaisin get the gift certificate from Six Apart to donate to DonorsChoice? I got the email today, and I can't decide who needs my money. :)
Ok... off to meet Fred & Fran so that I can meet their cats and make nicenice so they don't attack me when I come to feed and play with them in a couple of weeks. :)
