You guys, I'm still traumatized by what Hurricane Irene did to my area of Vermont and the state as a whole. This time with Hurricane Sandy there's supposed to be a lot more wind and less flooding here. Not necessarily better, if it's your house that a tree flattens. We have a lot of large trees near our house, some of which are certain to lose branches at least in winds that could gust up to 80 mph.
Because of where we live (rural, mountainous, interesting weather, lots of trees, unburied power lines), we're always prepared for power outages, so I only had to buy a few things for this storm. Just have to put away/dispose of some things on our porches before the storm hits tomorrow afternoon.
Stay safe out there.
ETA: Porches cleared. Car full of trash/recycling to take to the transfer station tomorrow morning. Then I need to pick up medicine for one of the dogs, and possibly hit the gym (unless the weather gets bad sooner than the current forecast suggests). H is still planning to play hockey tomorrow at 9:30 p.m. because he has no common sense. Kind of hard to get to/from the rink when trees are down all over the roads. Also kind of hard to play hockey if the power goes out at the rink (a couple of towns over). We shall see.
